NABA Panel at NAB Show – Broadcasters and Hybrid Radio – it’s All About the Metadata

NABA Broadcasters and Hybrid Radio – it’s All About the Metadata Panel at NAB Show
Sunday April 16th, 2023, 10-11AM PT
Las Vegas Convention Center, Room W216-218

A revolution is underway, driven by the connected car and the inclusion of big, bright displays on the vehicle dashboard. Listeners now expect audio services in the car to provide not just great audio, but text and image ancillary information known as metadata. Some radio broadcasters are heeding this call and providing great metadata, but more need to do so.

In this session, a new report from the North American Broadcasters Association (NABA) will be introduced, containing valuable information on hybrid radio, metadata, and service providers who are helping broadcasters create a great metadata experience in the car. An expert panel will be present to discuss this report and provide additional information on this important topic.

Moderator: David Layer, Vice-Chair, NABA Radio Committee | Vice-President Advanced Engineering, NAB

Panelists:

Jeff Detweiler, Lead, NABA Radio Committee’s Hybrid Radio and Metadata Working Group | Senior Director, Broadcast Technology, Xperi

Nick Piggott, Project Director, RadioDNS

Laura Ivey, Director of Research, Edison Research

If you are a NABA Member who would like to attend the session, contact the NABA Secretariat for details.
