International Work

Broadcasters need to be at the table where decisions about their technology, spectrum rights, and content rights are decided.  Many of those decisions, including production standards, spectrum interference, piracy, and copyright, are made at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). NABA has official NGO status at these organizations and is the gateway for North American broadcasters to be involved and stay informed.

NABA also coordinates with other broadcast unions in Europe, Africa, Asia, South America and the Caribbean. Collectively, we are the World Broadcasting Unions, and NABA is their organization secretariat. We share information on a global basis through our Technical Committee, News Committee, International Media Connectivity Group and the Broadcaster Treaty Working Group. All NABA members are free to participate in any WBU project or activity.
