Frank Governale oversees all East Coast Broadcast Operations and Engineering for the CBS Television Network. In his previous role as Vice-President of Operations for CBS news (a role he held for 20 years), he was responsible for the Division’s technical personnel and facilities worldwide, its computer and data services, labor relations, and the exploration of the newest technologies to insure the most efficient newsgathering capabilities. When Governale was Director, Bureau Operations, he was responsible for the design, construction and operations of the technical facilities at all of the CBS News bureaus, including capital budget planning, the deployment of crews and equipment, and the acquisition of equipment, manpower, and research and development for future technologies. He has been with CBS since 1981.
Governale was born in the Bronx, N.Y. and graduated with a B.F.A. in communications from the New York Institute of Technology.
