Mario Vecchi

As Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Mario Vecchi oversees distribution operations and engineering, media management, interconnection engineering, information technology, web and new media applications/systems, as well as technology strategy and planning for PBS. Before PBS, Vecchi made strides at many companies including AOL, Time Warner Cable, Bell Communications Research, and founded Xynertek CA (one of the first worldwide companies to design and manufacture IBM PC compatible microcomputers). With more than 70 publications and technical presentations to his credit, he holds four International and U.S. patents. He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and a member of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE). Dr. Vecchi holds a PhD, as well as Electrical Engineering and Master of Science degrees from MIT.
