One of the most valuable resources for broadcasters is spectrum, which provides for an interference-free signal of programming that is freely available to viewers. Sadly, the mobile industry is putting increasing pressure on Governments and Regulators to have the broadcasters either give up some of this spectrum or share it. The result could be a broadcast signal diminished in terms of its reach and subject to interference. NABA provides a platform that allows us to work jointly with other broadcasters to ensure that spectrum remains available to the broadcast community and preserves the core business model. NABA also facilitates in addressing issues across our industry that are developing in a rapidly changing digital environment. Our recent and on-going work on File Formats and Media Interoperability is a great example of tackling such an industry need.
